Hi Ross, Thank you for your kind remarks. I have experienced a wide array of emotions since commencing stuttering at the age of three years. Much of the disappointment and frustration related to my employment as a police officer, when I was denied promotion because of the way in which I spoke. As I indicated in my paper, stuttering is no longer an issue. I no longer have to accept second best in life. I do whatever I choose, without giving any consideration to my speech. Incidentally, you may wish to learn more about my struggles as a police officer by reading the transcript of a speech that I gave back in 2001. Entitled, 'Stuttering is not just a speech problem', it can be found by clicking on one the following link: http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/kuster/Infostuttering/badmington.pdf (Adobe Reader required), or http://www.stammer.demon.co.uk/conf2001_alanbadmington/ Thank you for taking the time to contact me. Kindest regards Alan
