This paper focuses on the importance of involving the family and friends of the child who stutters in the course of therapy. I was struck by the incredible contrast in approaches of stuttering therapy, compared to forty years ago. Parents were taught back then to keep the subject of stuttering quiet, or at least it was not emphasized that it might be a good idea to talk to the child's siblings about how to deal with it. We are so enlightened in this day and age! Excellent paper.
