hi Nicole Yes. We recently completed a study comparing affective, behavioral, and cognitive aspects of stuttering during speeches given to live and virtual audiences, and there was no difference between the two types of audiences. Also, there is a large literature on generalization of learning in VR to real world for fears and phobias such as fear of heights, flying, etc. Shelley
