SimCom is the simultaneous use of speech and sign. SimCom, in its truest sense of the word, is functionally impossible with ASL, as ASL has an entirely different linguistic and grammatical structure. One can use a poor or pigeon form of ASL w/ speech, although it’s not really ideal. If one wants to use ASL, they’re better off signing-only. SAE may be a better choice for SimCom. Truth be told, however, my bias is toward the pure-use of ASL.
