Mr. Sugarman, I found your article very interesting and insightful. I agree with your point that a speech clinician can only do so much in therapy when a client is resistant to change. I think that building trust is important in therapy, but how long should a clinician stay at this step? When does it become prudent to discontinue direct speech services until the client is ready to move on?
