I am currently a second year graduate student. I have seen the “bucket” been used to compare many things. Using it to describe stuttering was a great way to break it up into easy parts. This is an analogy that could be used to describe why/when it occurs to children and parents. It’s a wonderful resource and teaching tool for a new clinician. My question is “Why does this analogy for children straddle the fence between normal disfluencies and mild stuttering?” I would assume that this analogy could apply to all stutters.
