Thanks to both Joes for their amusing and informative article. I have faced a similar conundrum. As a stuttering parent of a child who stutters I often propose that I may not be the best person to support my child because, while I can empathise, I may lack some of the objectivity needed to provide unconditional support. Others have said I am best placed to support my child because I have a high level of understanding of her situation. Any view? Veronic
