Thank you very much Dr. Donaher and Dr. Klein. Your paper was very informative. I am a graduate student pursuing my masters in speech language pathology. I strongly agree with the literature that most of the stuttering lies beneath the surface and that the only way when one can understand how someone truly feels is by being in the same position as the other person. My question is: what are the common approaches you would normally use during intervention with people who stutter? What technique do you most often employ, the fluency shaping technique or stuttering modification technique? Let us say you were working on the fluency shaping technique with a client and you encountered moments of stuttering yourself. How do you think you would approach the situation? Would you feel comfortable with using fluency shaping technique as a therapy tool? Thanking you. Kind Regards, Fatemah Gulamhussein
