I enjoyed reading your article as this was a question that many, including myself, have thought about. I am currently enrolled in a Fluency course and upon reading my textbook, it seems a common theme is that their is much more to the stuttering than the fluency it's self. Therefore, I felt that a clinician who stutters will be more likely to understand that. The article has enlightened me and no matter if the clinician stutters or not, the relationship and partnership you have with your client is crucial. One question that i do have for both is: In your careers, have you experienced differences in treatment outcomes between those clinicians who stutter and those who don't? Also, have you found that clinicians who do not stutter may not try as hard to understand what is "beneath the iceberg" because they have experienced it themselves as opposed to clinicians who do not stutter may be more eager to know how a person who stutters feels?
