Thank you Joe's for responding to 'Judy's question. It's true that the question may often arise from an insecurity of doing fluency therapy. Granted, many clinician's find fluency therapya to be very challenging, considering the plethora of variabilities amongst clients. I personally had that question too, considering that we have a male clinician who stutters in out Graduate Program as well. I therefore am happy to see this article, for it shows that a 'fluent' speaker may be just as competent. NOtebaly, a suggestion provided by our supervisors, is for clinicians that do not stutter, to practice pseudo-stuttering, and using the modification technique, prior to treating any client. WIthout stepping into the world of a PWS, it is absolutely impossible to do authentic and empathetic, treatment.
