This article caught my eye because there is a clinician in our clinic who stutters. He is an outstanding clinician, and he worked with my current client last semester. He made great strides with her, and she truly enjoyed working with him. To Joe Klein: I appreciate your honesty; however, I do feel that most clients would like being able to relate to their clinicians. It is wonderful that you are able to show your clients another side of stuttering. You are able to provide your clients with hope and give them someone with whom to relate. To Joe Donaher: Although I have not yet worked with a fluency client, I agree with you analogy of a clinician and a coach. I believe that analogy works in all aspects of speech and language treatment. When I work with my client, I am excited about all of her accomplishments just as I would be excited if she scored the winning goal!
