I found this paper extremely enlightening in regards to the importance of the therapeutic relationship between the client and the clinician. One of the assignments for my class involved participating in voluntary stuttering and the easy-onset technique in everyday situations such as ordering a cup of coffee. I learned that explaining these experiences to my future clients could provide models of risk taking. Do either of you give examples of your own risk taking during therapy? If so, are they related to stuttering or are they risks unrelated to fluency? Also, do you find that providing models of risk taking is helpful in therapy? Thank you so much for your time.
