I only learned easy onsets and light contacts initially. I was then exposed to voluntary stuttering. I hit a plateau. There were many situations where my anxiety/fear about stuttering made it impossible to use those techniques. Voluntary stuttering was my antibiotic for many years: when I relapsed I would make do a ton of voluntaray stuttering to remove the shame and loosen the articulators from panic. My BIG BREAKTHROUGH was learning cognitive therapy through NLP training. This helped me figure exactly what thoughts/feelings triggered the anxiety and resulted in the blocking. NLP also allowed me to 'edit' any painful memories. I am now relapse proof.
