I really appreciate you sharing your story. I think you are correct when you stated, “Most people take fluent speech for granted, perhaps regarding it as a basic human characteristic.” I am a first year graduate student and currently enrolled in a Stuttering course. Before this class, I can honestly say I took fluent speech for granted. I guess it never crossed my mind how difficult fluency really is for some people. Thanks again for sharing your story you are an inspiration, especially to those who have not yet reached the view that stuttering is a gift!
