Tara, Sure, the silly putty can be used as a home assignment as well.....as long as the child is feeling comfortable doing the activity in the treatment room. One thing I have learned in my many years of treating kids who stutter (and adults), you can do whatever you want as long as you and the client feels comfortable doing it, and as long as it is reasonable and ethical. As I always tell my grad students, "there are at least a hundred different ways to accomplish every goal." The clay/silly putty activites represent one of many.
