I have recently heard about this SpeechEasy device from a teacher in my undergrad program. Our teacher showed us a clip from a show that portrayed this device as something so extraordinary. I found it very interesting that the most striking finding was the device’s failure to produce lasting fluency enhancement. I guess my lack of knowledge about this device could explain why this was so interesting to me. I think that this is a very mind opening article to this new technology and the questions that the device brings up about fluency. It will be interesting to learn more about this object in the future.
