We've found in the National Stuttering Association that parents of children who stutter need as much support as the kids do. Some of the most emotional sessions at our annual conference are at the parents-only discussions. Clinicians should urge parents to network with one another at gatherings like the NSA and Friends conventions, or at the NSA's local youth chapters and regional youth day programs.
