The short answer to your question is that we don't yet know what mice can tell us about stuttering in humans. However mice are a very well studied laboratory animal, and many very powerful genetic methods have been developed for this animal. Our hope is that if we can somehow replicate stuttering in a believable way in mice, it could open many doors to finding the details about the underlying causes of human stuttering.
