Debbie, Thanks for keeping the discussion going. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said, " but another part of our therapy would be to help the parents become more knowledge about any of the speech/language disorders and how they might support their child through the process of being free to find their own potential as a communicator." You bring up two great points in that sentence. First, we need to help parents become more knowledgeable about communication disorders AND secondly (an maybe more importantly) we need to help them to support their child to be the best communicator he can be...even if he is still stuttering.
