Voon, thanks for writing us, it is great to hear from you. You write, I'm ashamed to admit I haven't had time to listen to the StutterTalk podcast series yet but if this is a taster then I'm in for a treat! Thank you for your very kind word. I am very proud of the four part costal breathing series and very thankful for the guests who joined us on air to discuss their experiences. I am a huge fan of Peanuts and will have to find the one you mentioned it may work really well in a PowerPoint! I think we share some of the same concerns about taking deep breaths. You write, It probably hasn't helped that his past SLTs, with very good intentions may have taken a fluency shaping approach and began with breathing 'technique' which I think has resulted in this child not liking how easy onsets sounded and rushing through with secondaries. This is an excellent point. But to be fair, one could make a similar argument that a child may not like speaking using a stuttering modification tool or voluntary stuttering and react by rushing through or withdrawing. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Voon.
