I am currently in graduate school for SLP and one of my clients in our university clinic is a PWSC. This client has been attending our clinic for a few semesters and appears to be improving in terms of personal confidence, identifying herself in a therapy setting as a PWSC, and stuttering freely in front of student clinicians. I think it would be beneficial for this client to meet other PWS or PWSC, but she is adamantly opposed to this. Even watching PWS on youtube is highly stressful for her. Do you have any suggestions for promoting confrontation with reluctant PWSC? I don't want to push too hard and damage the relationship, but I feel that confrontation would be ultimately good for my client.
